What makes this guitar special? This is the first guitar/synth hybrid brought to the mass market in the late 70s. It features a very unique electronics system that was developed between Hagstrom and Ampeg and centers on a monophonic response that allows players to use their guitar as a synth, guitar, or both. The humbucking pickups in the this guitar have a ton of character including an expressive upper mid-range that is chock full of chime, yet still produces a nice full sound across the board. The mahogany figuring is fantastic and shows excellent color variance and movement especially in the back.
The slim mahogany neck is very easy to move around, the natural mahogany body looks fantastic under a gloss finish, and for its age, this axe is still in great shape, so don’t miss your chance to bring home this very unique piece of musical history.Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does posses various nicks, dings, dents, chips, scuffs and scratches, but is still in great shape and looks the same.
It does have a few extra drill holes near the bridge. The frets show only light-mild wear and still have quite a bit of life left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod is functioning.
Hagstrom Vintage Guitar Value. This is just a reminder for me (string around my finger) to value a guitar for Ken at work, when I get back to my home away from home in TN. I found out that only 863 of these were built with tremolo (whammy) bars. There's a couple good websites on Hagstrom history. Learned that mine was one of 250 built.
